Not too shabby!

I mentioned a few posts back this it was the one year anniversary of me and the boyfriend.  The weekend we were supposed to celebrate I got sick with bronchitis.  Boo.

So... this past weekend, Dexter said he had a surprise for me but I had to pick it out.  Wondering where this is going?  I was too.

In to the mall we went and leu and behold, as he lead me in to the COACH store, I was given instructions that I was to pick out ANY purse I want!  What?!  So exciting.

Conclusion?  I got my very first REAL coach bag!  See below...

What a guy.  :)

Hair!

So I used to have looooooong hair.  Looooooong beautiful hair.

I had always wanted to do a "long bob," And then due to a few life changing events,  I decided life is too short and to go for it.  This is the shortest I've EVER had my hair (Even shorter in the back).

PS that's me and my boyfriend, country singer, Phil Vassar.
Heh.  Excuse the goofy "mid-sentence face."

Well- it was fun while it lasted, but I desperately miss my long hair, so I've been growing it out since.

Yesterday I got a haircut.  Not so much to cut length, but more so style.  It might be the BEST haircut I've ever gotten.  No joke.  Aaaaand, it was my first DUDE haircut.  I told him he better not screw up.

And baby!  He didn't.  LOVE it.

Still a long way to go, but it's getting there!

Hey.  Have a GREAT weekend.

The boyfriend and I are doing Christmas in Kansas tonight.  Can't wait to give him his prezzies!

Weekend Recap

After reading the guest post of Craftiness is not Optional on Life in Technicolor's blog, I HAD to try these red velvet cake balls.  Friday night I had the itching to do something domestic, so I thought I'd give them a try.  Putting my own spin on them for the Christmas season by dying the white chocolate green, I have lots of room for improvement on the "dipping" step!  However, they were delicious!  Thanks Jess!

Saturday, the boyfriend came to town and we headed up to Kansas City for my biff's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party.  We had a blast.
Mine even had shoulder pads!!

PS I apologize for the quality of the photos in this post.  They were all taken on my Blackberry.

There was a white elephant gift exchange and the boyfriend (Dexter) won an autographed picture of one of the guys at the party.  Bahahaha.

Sunday I slept in until about noon.  Before you judge me, I have to tell you that we decided to drive back from KC last night AFTER the party, putting us back home at 3:30 a.m.  The sleeping in was definitely justified!

I put up my tree today.  Heh.

And finally, before the boyfriend had to go back to Wichita (where he lives), we decided to go see the 3rd Chronicles of Narnia move.  Sooo good.  Definitely recommend it.

Overall weekend gets 5 outta 5 stars.  Back to the grind....

Dexter

For those of you that don't know, my boyfriend's name is Dexter. I can't tell you how many times that when I've told someone his name, I've heard "Like the tv show??!"

Curiosity go the best of me (us), so this weekend, Dexter and I started the first season of Dexter. Verdict is in and the show is ADDICTING! Seriously, I totally dig it.

Be warned, the theme of the show is a little heavy (serial killer) but here's the gist of it as found on Wikipedia:

Orphaned at the age of three, Dexter Morgan is adopted by Miami police officer Harry Morgan and his wife Doris. After discovering that young Dexter has been killing neighborhood pets, Harry believes that the boy is a psychopath and teaches him "The Code" as a way to channel his violent urges towards people who "deserve it". In this code, Dexter's victims must be killers themselves who have murdered the undeserving and will likely do so again. Dexter must also have proof that the criminals are guilty. Most importantly, Dexter must never get caught. Flashbacks throughout the series show Harry, who died several years before, instructing Dexter in how to appear normal and cover his tracks.

I survived the purple.

I'd like to think I had a little bit to do with their season opening victory over UCLA. You're welcome K-State fans.

Favorite Things

So I've come across some news favorite things in the past couple months. It would be a complete injustice NOT to share! :)

Heeeeeere we go...

#1- Super Model Perfume from Victoria's Secret. Not gonna lie, wearing it puts a little extra strut in my step. ha.

#2- Tuscan Salad from Houlihan's. For anyone that knows me,
I hate salad. So it says alot that I found one that totally excites me! The goat cheese mixed in with the beans, tomatoes and creative presentation are to die for!

#3- Etsy.com. This website rocks! Anything creative you could possibly want to wear, decorate, give away as gifts, etc... is found here. People submit their handmade creations. If your into that vintage, indy, chic style, this site is perfect.

#4- The music of Missy Higgins. She is my absolute favorite and the first Aussie chick of two to make this list. If your into indie folk music, you will love her. I once drove 9 hours to hear her in concert. I love her so much, I dedicated a whole post to her. Check it out here.

#5- Suave's Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. It smells just like Aveda and works almost as good for more than half the price. If your on a budget but love the higher end products, this is a great compromise.

#6- The name DEXTER. I just dig it. :)

#7- The YouTube blog of Natalie Tran. It's called Community Channel. She is this darling Aussie chick with the perfect combo of wit, sarcasm and charm that makes her one of the most viewed online. Seriously hilarious. You gotta check her out.

#8- Last one on the list for now- Maxwell House Vanilla Caramel Latte instant coffee. It actually FOAMS! Great fix when you can't get to Starbucks at work. I'm telling you, it's all about the foam.

Welp, there she blows. What are some of YOUR favorite things right now??
