Welcome to my world....
7:30 a.m. Time to get dressed for work. I really want to wear my gray dress pants with my black high heels, but go figure, these pants are too short for these shoes. Guess I'll go with the black pants.
8:00 a.m. Walk into work and a man opens the door for me. I say thank you and he proceeds to tell me "You're welcome. I'd do the same thing for a short girl." Wow. Thanks. So glad that I don't have to complain about height discrimination to Human Resources.
8:05 a.m. Woo hoo! They installed my "tall girl friendly" desk at work. Now I can actually cross my legs while at my computer.
10:00 a.m. Break time. While in the rest room buttoning my pants, a co-worker comes in a calls me out because she can see my head over the stall. Good thing it doesn't stink in here or my cover would be completely blown. Can't a girl just urinate in peace?!
12:00 p.m. Head to the cafeteria for lunch. Man approaches me and cannot believe that a girl of my height would ever think to wear high heels to be even TALLER! To which I reply "I do it to intimidate insecure men like yourself." Zing.
1:30 p.m. Have to run down and mail a package. No joke a man approaches me and thinks it's a good idea to refer to me as an "Amazon." Newsflash- joking or not, this phrase is NEVER funny. I give the awkward courtesy laugh and walk away. Next goal- work on better comebacks.
3:00 p.m. Waiting for everyone to show up for our afternoon meeting. I refer to the high heels comment from earlier in the day to make small talk to which a co-worker responds with, "It must be really hard to find a boyfriend being so tall." Actually no, it's not. Thank you very much.
4:30 p.m. Stop by the bridal shop to get fitted for a bridesmaid dress. Big surprise. I have to order extra length. It's not enough that I have to pay $200 for a dress I'll never wear again, but let's punish me for my uncontrollable long legs and charge me an extra 50 bucks. Awesome.
5:00 p.m. Head to the grocery store to get some stuff for dinner. Woman asks me to reach something for her off the top shelf. I reach it with no problem.
5:30 p.m. Stop at Wal-Mart on my way home and overhear two people commenting on how tall I am. Ok, let's clear something up here: TALL DOES NOT EQUAL DEAF.
6:00 p.m. Forget cooking tonight. I need some retail therapy. Head to the mall to shop for jeans. WHAT was I thinking? All the longs aren't long enough so I have to head to The Buckle where all the tall pants are at least $100. Looks like Meg is wearing shorts the rest of the week.
7:30 p.m. Head to the college to play some basketball. The one place where the taller you are the better. This is just what I needed to help remind me that Tall is AWESOME.
9:00 p.m. It's raining. I'm the first to know. Obviously.
10:30 p.m. Talk to my tall boyfriend on my tall girl cell phone and put on my tall girl pajamas after brushing my tall girl teeth and cuddling up in my tall girl bed. Goodnight!

I suck at blogging
Not that anyone actually reads this, but I was recently given some blog exposure on the Facebook page of this super awesome band, Lovers and Liars. If you don't "like" them, you should. They are "tall girl friendly." heh. I was also notified by @Sunnybranste that I'm waaaay due for a post. So...here we are! Ok, back to me.
It looks like I haven't posted on here since March. In honor of being a crappy blogger, I thought a poem/apology was the obvious next move....obviously.
I Suck at Blogging
By: Meg B
A poet I'm not,
and a blogger neither,
that is clear because
I don't update either.
A site for poems
and a sight for thought,
my lack of inspiration
leaves my fans in distraught.
An excuse you ask?
One I do not have,
Laziness and boys
have kept me off task.
So to you, I'm sorry.
Improve, yes I will.
I'll do better with the blog,
I promise to fulfill.
The poems however,
this may be it,
Let's be real here,
they aren't a good fit.
It's the end of the month,
I will post again soon.
Leave me a comment,
compliment and swoon.
The end.

Sarcasm? Yes, please.
Don't know if you are familiar with someecards.com, but if you aren't, you need to be. It quenches my sarcastic thirst on a regular basis. Seriously, hysterical. There's definitely a little something for everyone. Below are a few examples of my favorites:
*Please note that some of them are a little on the inappropriate side and by a little, I mean a lot. I don't condone that but simply choose to overlook them to get to the ones i find funny. :)

Favorite Things
So I've come across some news favorite things in the past couple months. It would be a complete injustice NOT to share! :)
Heeeeeere we go...

#1- Super Model Perfume from Victoria's Secret. Not gonna lie, wearing it puts a little extra strut in my step. ha.
#2- Tuscan Salad from Houlihan's. For anyone that knows me,
I hate salad. So it says alot that I found one that totally excites me! The goat cheese mixed in with the beans, tomatoes and creative presentation are to die for!
#3-
Etsy.com. This website rocks! Anything creative you could possibly want to wear, decorate, give away as gifts, etc... is found here. People submit their handmade creations. If your into that vintage, indy, chic style, this site is perfect.
#4- The music of Missy Higgins. She is my absolute favorite and the first Aussie chick of two to make this list. If your into indie folk music, you will love her. I once drove 9 hours to hear her in concert. I love her so much, I dedicated a whole post to
her. Check it out here.
#5- Suave's Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. It smells just like Aveda and works almost as good for more than half the price. If your on a budget but love the higher end products, this is a great compromise.
#6- The name DEXTER. I just dig it. :)
#7-
The YouTube blog of Natalie Tran. It's called Community Channel. She is this darling Aussie chick with the perfect combo of wit, sarcasm and charm that makes her one of the
most viewed online. Seriously hilarious. You gotta check her out.
#8- Last one on the list for now- Maxwell House Vanilla Caramel Latte instant coffee. It actually FOAMS! Great fix when you can't get to Starbucks at work. I'm telling you, it's all about the foam.
Welp, there she blows. What are some of YOUR favorite things right now??

Half Birthdays and Celebrating YOU!
I think it’s pretty safe to say that most people do not celebrate their half birthdays. My half birthday, on the other hand, falls on a day that the entire world celebrates- New Year’s Day! Ok, you probably don’t think that is as cool as I do. My friend Michelle’s son shares the same half birthday, and she actually makes half a cake for him. How cute is that??
I’ve never been one for making new year’s resolutions because let’s be honest, I suck at the follow through. However, I do like to reflect on the past year and the type of person I was, am, and want to be in the upcoming year.
I think we, especially females, find it so easy to tear one another down! We should be celebrating how wonderful and unique we are, not covering our own insecurities by saying negative things about our fellow divas! Speaking of insecurities, how often do you make lists of what you like about YOURSELF? Me either.
So to go along with the theme of celebration, resolutions and girl power, I’m going mention what I love about the girls closest to me and ALSO what I LOVE about myself. You should try it.
Beth G- Electric personality that makes everyone want to be on “your team.” Aaaaand....you have the best boobs. Yep. I said it. Virginia tennis anyone? Ha.
Nina P- You are GORGEOUS...inside and out. You give out the best advice and even if we don’t talk every day, I can count on you to be there.
Kelly R- I love your naturally curly hair and boootaaay! You are a really great listener. You inspire me in my Christian walk.
Amanda S- You are so strong willed and say what you think. A quality I wish I had more of. And I love that you can rock hair at any length and it looks awesome.
Hannah B- Your passion for things in life is inspiring. And I love love love your red hair and freckles.
Lauren J- Whether you think so or not, you have the most beautiful face. I wish you saw what others do. You are such a giver and so fun to be around. Hey girl heeey.
Ashley D- Girl, you have the BEST style. Seriously, I wish you would dress me. You have sass and class and share my cheesy humor. Best Frezin ever.
Shaletha P- You have the confidence of no one I’ve ever met before. You work it, own and command it. And your lips- juicy!!!
Amanda P- Your bubbly personality is contagious. You are so genuine in your concern for others. And you share a quality with another on this list- a great rack!
Christy C- I love the shape of your eyes. So awesome. I also really enjoy your sarcastic humor. Makes me laugh so hard.
Lachelle R- You have the BEST smile and laugh! Makes me so happy. I love that we can go 4 years without seeing each other and still don’t skip a beat when we reunite.
Mom- The strongest woman I know. I love that no matter what you are going through, physically you always got it going on. You are beautiful and an inspiration to so many.
How could I ever forget Kaylee C- Your sass rocks my life. I love your style and how you don't care what anyone thinks. You my dear, are wonderful!
Kirstin P- You are so soft spoken, but have a heart of gold. Your curly hair is gorgeous and I know it can be a pain to you, but it makes you YOU!
Last but not least, Meg- I really love my dimples and my height. I’d like to think that people generally like to be around me and try to be positive as much as I can. And, the jury’s still out, but I think I’m pretty darn funny.
There are so many more people I could mention and so much more I could say about the one’s I did. The point is, yes, we all have our flaws, but I think we should start focusing more on the positive qualities that God has given us.
Cheers to you.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 134:19)."
